Record Pool?

What are people's thoughts on some kind of grime record pool to service those outer the UK? I know there was one going in Canada previously during Garage's peak. Anyway, feedback needed to see whether this an avenue we could go down.

Great idea. I'm sure the Canada crew would love this. I've just launched a Canadian Grime/Dubstep community over at Riddim.ca. It might be helpful for making connections. Let me know if I can do anything.

That would be amazing. I'm from Belgium where the only grime-records you'll find are Dizzee & Wiley-albums (Run the road might make it overseas as well, I don't know for sure)
Soulseek can come in handy but it's definitely not like you can find every grime-tune ever recorded on it.
A pool would make it possible to stay up-to-date sonically with the grime-scene which is unfortunately not the case for me right now.

thanks for all the emails/comments... I'm getting back to you slowly but surely... what I really need to know more about is how exactly an effective record pool works, basics and all. Anyone?

sorry for the trash postings but i couldn't get signed in, i thought... i'm located in germany and a pool would be great(it took me 4 months to get the rephlex sampler on vinyl), BUT a pool for djs only works with major labels because they ship the records to the people running the pool ,who have to send the records to the djs, huge amount of the records are bullshit. what you get depends on which label your pool works with ... sad to tell you , but if you figure out a way to get a grime pool started hook me up !!!

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'd be keen to see something rolling down here in Australia. I've been pushing for some time through www.southernsteppa.com to link up with producers and labels to see more material reach our shores and record stores.

Kodama.
